{"id":4648,"date":"2011-02-10T11:28:06","date_gmt":"2011-02-10T03:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2011\/02\/ministers-ex-aide-claims-trial-to-rm2m-laundering-charge\/"},"modified":"2011-02-10T11:28:06","modified_gmt":"2011-02-10T03:28:06","slug":"ministers-ex-aide-claims-trial-to-rm2m-laundering-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/ministers-ex-aide-claims-trial-to-rm2m-laundering-charge\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister\u2019s ex-aide claims trial to RM2m laundering charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The former political secretary to Minister in  the Prime Minister\u2019s  Department (Economic Planning Unit) Tan Sri Nor  Mohamed Yakcop has  claimed trial today to a money-laundering charge  involving RM2 million.<\/p>\n<p>Hasbie Satar, 37, from Sarawak, allegedly committed the offence in an   apartment unit in Teluk Air Tawar here, at 3.30pm on February 11 last   year.<\/p>\n<p>He was charged under section 4 (1) of the Anti-Money Laundering and   Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001, which carries a fine of up to RM5   million or a jail term of up to five years or both.<\/p>\n<p>Hasbie was unrepresented.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions Court judge Mohd Zairan Aman set bail at RM60,000 with two sureties and fixed March 14 for mention.<\/p>\n<p>He tendered his resignation as Nor Mohamed\u2019s political secretary on   February 14 last year after being detained by Malaysian Anti-Corruption   Commission (MACC) officers.<\/p>\n<p>Hasbie was appointed to the post in April 2008 when Nor Mohamed was   Second Finance Minister under then-Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad   Badawi.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported that MACC officers raided the apartment unit and   found bundles of RM5, RM10, RM50 and RM100 notes totalling RM2,134,656   and also seized two vehicles, a four-wheel drive and a BMW car.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The former political secretary to Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s Department (Economic Planning Unit) Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop has claimed trial today to a money-laundering charge involving RM2 million.
