PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hasan Tantawi said the Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor governments have directed all local authorities to work closely with police and Rela in order to carry out operations to check immoral activities during Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
This is because pre-emptive measures need to be taken to promote sin-free lifestyle, he said.<\/p>\n
Nasrudin also called on the authorities to take stern action against organisers who blatantly promote sinful activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor example, several years ago, a hotel in Kuala Terengganu offered free rooms for 100 couples on first-come-first-served basis.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year, there was a campaign to promote a no-panties day in conjunction with Valentine\u2019s Day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said the National Fatwa Council forbids Muslims from celebrating Valentine\u2019s Day because of elements of Christianity and sin.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are not against love. We are merely raising awareness on self-dignity and moral values,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In Penang, PAS youth is working closely with the Islamic Religious Department to check immoral activities among Muslims, he said.<\/p>\n
Nasrudin added that PAS youth in every state had also been directed to launch campaigns to promote sin-free lifestyle.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have identified favourite spots in every state where lovebirds mingle.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are deploying our members to preach and to distribute pamphlets promoting healthy sin-free lifestyle.<\/p>\n
