{"id":4509,"date":"2011-01-28T05:31:13","date_gmt":"2011-01-27T21:31:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2011\/01\/abused-siblings-left-hungry-and-wet-in-jungle\/"},"modified":"2011-01-28T05:31:13","modified_gmt":"2011-01-27T21:31:13","slug":"abused-siblings-left-hungry-and-wet-in-jungle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/abused-siblings-left-hungry-and-wet-in-jungle\/","title":{"rendered":"Abused siblings left hungry and wet in jungle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THREE sisters and their brother were left hungry and wet in a jungle  during a downpour after their father drove them out of their home when  he was not given any money by the eldest girl, <em>Harian Metro<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>More  shocking, the four siblings \u2013 aged seven to 14 \u2013 were found to have  been assaulted by their ill-tempered father over a long period, as  bruises from being kicked, punched and burnt with cigarette butts were  found on their bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Villagers of Kampung Guntung, near Setiu  in Terengganu, came across the children at a rickety shack in the jungle  early Wednesday and lodged a police report.<\/p>\n<p>A police team rushed  to the site and took them to the Setiu Hospital, from where they were  later referred to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu.<\/p>\n<p>Recapping  the 1am incident to their rescuers, the eldest child, a 14-year-old  school dropout who now works at a food stall, said she had angered her  father when she refused to give him her wages.<\/p>\n<p>The 59-year-old  man kicked her and chased the girl as well as her sisters, aged 10 and  eight, and their seven-year-old brother, out of their house at Kampung  Saujana.<\/p>\n<p>The man was allegedly also furious over an SMS sent by  one of the children to their mother, who had left the house since  September last year.<\/p>\n<p>The police have detained the man for questioning.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;A  rubber tapper in Telipok, about 37km from Kota Kinabalu, followed a  trail of strewn rice and food and was stunned to see that it led to a  spot where his wife\u2019s undergarments and slacks were dumped.<\/p>\n<p>Scouting further, the 53-year-old tapper was shocked to see the half-naked and blood-drenched body of his wife in some bushes.<\/p>\n<p>A sharp weapon was stuck in her neck.<\/p>\n<p>The police had to trek 7km into the smallholding through a dirt road to bring out out the body of the 51-year old victim<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THREE sisters and their brother were left hungry and wet in a jungle during a downpour after their father drove them out of their home when he was not given any money by the eldest girl, Harian Metro reported.
