KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 16 (Bernama) — The winding-up of the Budget debate at the Terengganu state assembly sitting Thursday developed into a heated argument between opposition representatives and Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said.<\/p>\n
The atmosphere got heated up when Ahmad called Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi (PAS-Batu Burok) a serial liar following inaccurate statements the latter made when raising various issues at the sitting, including on the relocation of residents of Kampung Tok Perah, Ladang to the Ladang Gemilang Apartment.<\/p>\n
Ahmad said the claim in the memorandum sent to him Wednesday that 170 residents were dissatisfied over the land acquisition was not true as the names written down were without signatures.<\/p>\n
“I am disappointed because the Batu Burok assemblyman has high (academic) qualifications, but no wisdom….I apologise if I regard the Batu Burok representative a serial liar.<\/p>\n
“They (opposition) simply used 170 names without the permission of the residents who stay at Pangsapuri Ladang Gemilang and this act was committed by six people from PAS who will not be satisfied even if we give them a mountain,” he said.<\/p>\n
Ahmad said the second lie by Syed Azman was claiming that the multi-storey car park project had been rejected by Penang, Selangor and Johor.<\/p>\n
Syed Azman asked Ahmad to withdraw the offending tag but Ahmad continued calling him a serial liar, with Syed Ahmad then calling him various names like big liar.<\/p>\n
The assembly later approved the Budget and the sitting adjourned sine die.<\/p>\n
