{"id":3859,"date":"2010-10-09T05:59:13","date_gmt":"2010-10-08T21:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2010\/10\/batu-sapi-mp-dies-in-road-accident\/"},"modified":"2010-10-09T05:59:13","modified_gmt":"2010-10-08T21:59:13","slug":"batu-sapi-mp-dies-in-road-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/batu-sapi-mp-dies-in-road-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Batu Sapi MP dies in road accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/bat.jpgusapimp.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/bat.jpgusapimp.jpg\" width=\"196\" height=\"184\" style=\"float: left;\" \/>KUALA  LUMPUR &#8211; Batu Sapi MP Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah has died in a  road accident in Kota Kinabalu today, triggering the country\u2019s 13th  by-election since Election 2008.\u00a0He was 54.<\/p>\n<p>Chong is believed to have been riding a Kawasaki 750 bike along the  Sembulan-Tanjung Aru road when he was involved in a crash with an  on-coming Mercedez car at about 11.40am today.<\/p>\n<p>The PBS politician (<strong>picture<\/strong>) first became an MP in 2004 when he won the Batu Sapi seat unopposed after his opponent withdrew.<\/p>\n<p>He kept the seat in Election 2008, polling 9,479 votes against independent Chung Kwong Wing who took 5,771 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Chong was born in Sandakan and is a mechanical engineer by  profession.
