{"id":3610,"date":"2010-09-19T02:10:50","date_gmt":"2010-09-18T18:10:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2010\/09\/patients-confidential-medical-records-obtained-by-caller\/"},"modified":"2010-09-19T02:10:50","modified_gmt":"2010-09-18T18:10:50","slug":"patients-confidential-medical-records-obtained-by-caller","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/patients-confidential-medical-records-obtained-by-caller\/","title":{"rendered":"Patient\u2019s confidential medical records obtained by caller"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Logo%20HSNZ.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/images\/stories\/berita33\/Logo%20HSNZ.jpg\" style=\"float: right;\" \/><strong>KUALA TERENGGANU<\/strong>: Female pa\u00adtients who received lewd telephone calls  from a man claiming to be \u2018Dr Tan\u2019 have been told to lodge police  reports.<\/p>\n<p>This is necessary so that investigations can determine  how he obtained precise medical records of his victims, said state  Health, Unity and Consumerism committee deputy chairman Datuk Din Adam.<\/p>\n<p>So  far one complaint was received by the Health Department from a patient  alleging that a caller identifying himself as a medical officer made  inappropriate comments on how to prevent breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe caller had also purportedly quizzed the patient about her sex life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Din  said a probe should be initiated on how a patient\u2019s confidential  medical records were obtained by the caller who impersonated an  obstetrician and gynaecologist from a local hospital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe  that many patients from the hospital could have received calls from Dr  Tan and probably thought it was genuine as he had details of the  patients\u2019 exact ailments,\u201d he said, while declining to reveal the name  of the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Din said based on the complaint from the  patient, \u2018Dr Tan\u2019 gave medical tips on how to prevent breast cancer but  midway the conversation turned erotic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Tan suggested that an  active sex life was important to a woman\u2019s physical wellbeing and  claimed that he used a psycho-sexual approach to help patients recover,\u201d  he revealed. -TheStarOnline<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA TERENGGANU: Female pa\u00adtients who received lewd telephone calls from a man claiming to be \u2018Dr Tan\u2019 have been told to lodge police reports.
