An underground tunnel which is under construction caved in following a pipe burst at Jalan Imbi, here, today.<\/p>\n

In the 9.30am incident, the pipe burst was believed to have caused a 19 metre tunnel cave in.<\/p>\n

City Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Azizan Ismail said the five metre depth tunnel is an underground project for a four lane road connecting Jalan Imbi to Jalan Pudu.<\/p>\n

\"IMG-20140702-WA0051\"<\/a>“We had to order the KL Monorail operators to suspend operations to avoid any mishaps as there are still soil movement,” he said.<\/p>\n

Azizan said they received a distress call at 10.38am and firemen from the Hang Tuah station were deployed to the scene.<\/p>\n

Firemen had placed markings on the ground to monitor the movement of the ground.<\/p>\n
