Solomon said Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the union had launched a campaign to collect one million  signatures before June to support the proposal and a petition on it  would be handed to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.<\/p>\n<p>So  far, the union had collected about 400,000 signatures and among those  who had signed the petition was former prime minister&#8217;s wife, Tun Dr  Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, he told reporters at a sport carnival here.<\/p>\n<p>The signature campaign was launched on March 8 to demand the government  amend the Employment Act to increase maternity leave from 60 to 90 days  for private and public sector workers. &#8211; Bernama<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PORT DICKSON: A survey by the National Union of Bank Employees (NUBE) found that eight out of 10 people support the proposal for longer maternity leave, its secretary-general, J.
