KOTA BARU: The PAS Dewan Ulama has advised Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud to stop politicising the hudud issue.<\/p>\n
Dewan Ulama acting chief Datuk Ahmad Yakob, who is also Kelantan Mentri Besar, said the DAP candidate in the upcoming Teluk Intan by-election should know her limits when talking about hudud.<\/p>\n
PAS, while planning to move two Private Member\u2019s Bills in the Dewan Rakyat to pave the way for hudud implementation in Kelantan, has not included the agenda in its ongoing campaign in support of the DAP in the May 31 by-election.<\/p>\n
However, Dyana has consistently told her ceramah crowd that she will not support the Bills that PAS would be tabling.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne who is Muslim should respect and adhere to the commands of Allah, as clearly stated in the Quran, like in the matter of hudud,\u201d said Ahmad in his Facebook posting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, do not show any sign that you reject the commands of Allah even though you are in a party that is different (from PAS). The rights of Muslims as given by Allah have to be faithfully protected.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said there were Muslims among the voters in Teluk Intan and matters sensitive to Islam must not be exploited by either DAP or Barisan Nasional.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a dispute arising from hudud stems from a Muslim, like the DAP candidate, then it gets more confusing for the people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ahmad said PAS had taken a stand on hudud since the early days of its formation.<\/p>\n
\u201cEnforcing laws based on Islamic tenets is clearly stated in Clause 5 (1) of the PAS constitution,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Therefore, he added, it was the core of PAS\u2019 struggles and every member and leader in the the party knew their responsibility towards this cause in whatever condition and situation.<\/p>\n
The planned Private Member\u2019s Bills, which has come under fire by DAP and MCA, has been put on hold pending a decision by a joint federal-state technical committee that is looking at all aspects on the implementation of hudud in Kelantan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
