{"id":21960,"date":"2014-04-14T17:00:46","date_gmt":"2014-04-14T09:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.buletinonline.net\/v7\/?p=21960"},"modified":"2014-04-14T19:30:48","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T11:30:48","slug":"minister-backs-igps-decision-ignore-seremban-child-abduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/minister-backs-igps-decision-ignore-seremban-child-abduction\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister Backs IGP\u2019s Decision to Ignore Seremban Child Abduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi defended today the police\u2019s decision to ignore the alleged abduction of a boy by his Muslim convert father in Seremban, saying it was the Home Ministry\u2019s \u201cofficial stand\u201d not to intervene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat has been mentioned by the IGP&#8230; that is the official stand by KDN,\u201d he said at a press conference after speaking at the Putrajaya Forum 2014 here, referring to his ministry by its Malay initials.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad Zahid was asked to comment on criticisms against Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar who had last week said the police would not act on an abduction complaint against Izwan Abdullah because the latter was granted custody rights over his child by the Shariah Court.<\/p>\n<p>Izwan, a Muslim convert previously known as N. Viran, had reportedly made off with his six-year-old son last Wednesday, two days after the Seremban High Court granted full custody of the boy and his nine-year-old sister to his estranged Hindu wife.<\/p>\n<p>The court had awarded custody to S.
