{"id":2065,"date":"2010-03-09T01:50:49","date_gmt":"2010-03-08T17:50:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2010\/03\/rela-members-caught-selling-drugs\/"},"modified":"2010-03-09T01:50:49","modified_gmt":"2010-03-08T17:50:49","slug":"rela-members-caught-selling-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/rela-members-caught-selling-drugs\/","title":{"rendered":"Rela Members Caught Selling Drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content_wrapper\">\n<p>KUALA TERENGGANU, March 8 (Bernama) &#8212;  The police nabbed two Rela members and a Thai woman and seized 612 grams  of heroin worth about RM200,000 from a car at Jalan Sultan Mahmud,  Kuala Ibai here last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A one-year-old boy was also brought into custody during the operation  at 12.30pm, said Terengganu narcotics investigation department chief  Supt Roslan Abd Wahid.<\/p>\n<p>He said the police also confiscated RM9,800 and Thailand Bath (THB)  6,000 (THB1 = RM0.10) in the drug bust, the biggest so far this year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The two men aged 36 and 40 are cousins while the 28-year-old woman  is the wife of the 36-year-old man.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The heroin is meant for distribution in the state. The couple&#8217;s son  was handed to the their relatives yesterday,&#8221; Roslan told reporters here  today.<\/p>\n<p>He said both men were from Pasir Mas, Kelantan while the woman was  from Narathiwat, Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>Bernama reported,\u00a0 seven police officers and 16 policemen stopped the car opposite a  clinic after receiving a tip-off.<\/p>\n<p>Roslan said the police found the heroin in 136 bottles encased in 14  transparent plastic packets and wrapped with newspapers kept in a bag  placed in the left back-seat legroom.<\/p>\n<p>The trio, who are remanded for one week, are being investigated under  Section 39(B) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 which carries a mandatory  death penalty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA TERENGGANU, March 8 (Bernama) &#8212; The police nabbed two Rela members and a Thai woman and seized 612 grams of heroin worth about RM200,000 from a car at Jalan Sultan Mahmud, Kuala Ibai here last Thursday.
