BANGI \u2014 A seven-year-old girl died after her throat was allegedly slit by her father at their home in Section 4, Bandar Baru Bangi this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Selangor deputy police chief Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said in the 4.45pm incident, the victim\u2019s two sisters, aged 10 and 12, were also hacked by their father leaving one injured in the back of the neck and the other with a severed finger.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice are still looking for the missing finger in the house,\u201d he told reporters at the scene.<\/p>\n

He said another of the suspect\u2019s daughter, aged 15, and son, aged 17, managed to save themselves from the father, who used a machete in attacking the children.<\/p>\n

According to him, the 15-year-old, who had just returned from attending religious classes, was shocked to see her father standing in the living room with a machete in his hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe girl saw blood splattered all over the living room and her sisters injured. She screamed and shouted for her elder brother, aged 17, who was in an upstairs room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe brother rushed down and on seeing what had happened told her to run upstairs and lock herself in his room. He then called the police,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\"Bangi1\"<\/a>Abd Rahim said on arrival, police found the two injured girls in the living room and immediately rushed them to the Kajang Hospital.<\/p>\n

He said police found the girl whose throat was slit in a room downstairs.<\/p>\n

Police then hunted down the 44-year-old man and found him by the bank of a river behind the housing estate at 6pm, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect was in a disoriented state, wet and with a head injury. Police believe he had jumped into the river but climbed back to the river bank afterwards,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Abd Rahim said police also seized a machete form the suspect.<\/p>\n

He added that the suspect who had been jobless for two years, did not have a criminal record and could be suffering mental problems.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a teen neighbour, Anas Syaffiq Maarof, said he was preparing to attend extra-curricular activities when the 10-year-old victim ran towards him covered in blood.<\/p>\n

Anas Syaffiq, 15, said he saw the victim\u2019s school uniform was soaked in blood and she had injuries on her head and face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe child was screaming for help and told me her father was holding a machete and she was frightened.<\/p>\n

\u201cI then took the child to her house and on the way rang the house bells of all the neighbours asking them to accompany me to the victim\u2019s house,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
