{"id":17036,"date":"2013-11-22T12:24:47","date_gmt":"2013-11-22T04:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.buletinonline.net\/v7\/?p=17036"},"modified":"2013-11-22T14:32:57","modified_gmt":"2013-11-22T06:32:57","slug":"woman-loses-rm209000-to-foreigner-she-met-on-facebook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/woman-loses-rm209000-to-foreigner-she-met-on-facebook\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman loses RM209,000 to foreigner she met on Facebook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA TERENGGANU: A civil servant lost about RM209,000 after being deceived by a foreign man whom she met on social networking site Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>The victim, a 50-year-old single mother had mortgaged her house and handed over the money to the man.<\/p>\n<p>She lodged a report at the Kuala Terengganu police headquarters today.<\/p>\n<p>State Commercial CID chief, Supt Khoh Ah Tiam said the foreigner had earlier hoodwinked the woman into believing that he was a contractor and that he wanted to transfer US$10 million (RM31 million) to this country.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a student of a public higher education institution lodged a police report after receiving a small package bundled as a corpse and placed in his motorcycle basket yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old, who was in a student representative council, also received a short note warning him to withdraw his candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>State CID chief ACP K.
