PAS Miri together with the Unit AMAL Malaysia Miri visited the fire victims’ families in Kampung Sungai Dalam B, Batu 6, Lambir near here yesterday.<\/p>\n
The fire that started at about 7.40am in the morning a few days ago, a three-year-old boy was burnt to death when fire completely destroyed his family\u2019s wooden house in Kampung Sungai Dalam B, Batu 6. The victim’s mother and grandmother also suffered burns on several parts of their body. The victim\u2019s grandfather Sebri Pawi, 81, said the fire was believed to have started from one of the rooms in the house, which was built on stilts.<\/p>\n
PAS Miri very sympathetic with the fate of the family in which they lost a child and their home was destroyed. PAS Miri lend some assistance to the families of the victims to lessen the burden that ought to be borne by the families of fire victims.<\/p>\n
We urge that the government can provide emergency assistance to rebuild their homes that were destroyed in the blaze. Among the things that should be noted is a problem of the village house safety there is no fire extinguisher.<\/p>\n
The government and the Fire Brigade should shed light on the ways and means of escape in a fire and tells how to use a fire extinguisher properly to prevent a fire to the villagers.<\/p>\n
At least with the fire extinguisher and fire hydrant, it’s a first step to remove and prevent the fire from spreading and also be able to save lives and destruction of property. Hope this matter can be given an appropriate attention by the relevant authorities to provide every villager\u2019s houses have a fire extinguisher for the safety of residents who are lack of knowledge about the prevention of fire from spreading.<\/p>\n
