Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital deputy director (Medical) Dr Noor Zaini Morad said former Kedah Mentri Besar Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak died due to blood infection and multiple organs failure.<\/p>\n
She said Azizan, 69, passed away at 11.05am on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Dr Noor Zaini said Azizan’s condition worsened on Wednesay morning after he suffered heart failure.<\/p>\n
“He suffered heart arrest but we were able to stabilised him. The blood infection was not solely from the amputated legs but due to his weak immune system,” he said.<\/p>\n
She said Azizan was stabled when he was first transfered to the hospital last month but due to various health complication, his condition worsened.<\/p>\n
“Azizan has end stage renal failure and also problems with his heart and eyes. We have provided him with the best treatment but his antibody is already weak,” she said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustapa Ali when met said Azizan’s death was a lost to the party and also to him personally.<\/p>\n
