Representative Have The Right To Table A Motion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KUALA TERENGGANU<\/strong> &#8211; The Batu Buruk assemblyman tabled a special motion for the matter to be debated on as it was urgent and of public interest and raised the issue of the redevelopment of the Pasar Besar Kedai Payang into a mega hotel project by the state government and the implications.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi (PAS-Batu Buruk) continued speaking but repeatedly interrupted by the new Speaker Mohd Zubir Embong, who was appointed to the post only two days ago.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Zubir announced he accepted the motion tabled by Dr. Syed Azman, but later make an announcement of a short break.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Syed Azman who also PAS Asistant Secretary General had no other choice unless finishing his speech on the motion, although the even after the microphones had been switched off .<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have the right to finish my speech on this motion, the rule (of the house) allow to me to finish my speech, any representative can table the motion under section 30, rule and order of the state assembly,&#8221;he said <\/p>\n<p>But when the sitting resumed half an hour later, the Speaker rejected the motion, saying it was not an urgent matter.<\/p>\n<p>The opposition through Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut (PAS-Wakaf Mempelam) had also questioned the absence of the state exco post for Islamic religion in the new Barisan Nasional state government line-up led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad promptly stood up to say that although the religious portfolio was not stated, Islamic religious affairs came under the state executive councillor with special functions, just like at the federal level where a minister in the Prime Minister&#8217;s
