WSJ reported that Malaysia had one of the higher figures of debt levels in the region, with the country\u2019s credit-to-GDP ratio this June rising to 117 per cent from 96 per cent in late 2007.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the central bank said today February 8th, Malaysia\u2019s international reserves stood at RM433.4 billion as of January 31, up from RM427.9 billion on January 15, the central bank said today.<\/p>\n

The reserves would finance 9\u215f\u2082 months of retained imports and were 4.2 times the short-term external debt.<\/p>\n

Reuters reported, other corresponding figures in ringgit for January 31 and January 15 that Bank Negara released were assets of RM478.1 billion (RM477.2 billion) and currency in circulation of RM73.1 billion (RM66.2 billion).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
