{"id":11040,"date":"2012-12-10T10:56:48","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T02:56:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/index.php\/2012\/12\/block-pm-307-oilfield-in-tganu-territorial-waters-state-assembly-told\/"},"modified":"2012-12-10T10:56:48","modified_gmt":"2012-12-10T02:56:48","slug":"block-pm-307-oilfield-in-tganu-territorial-waters-state-assembly-told","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buletinonlines.net\/v7\/index.php\/block-pm-307-oilfield-in-tganu-territorial-waters-state-assembly-told\/","title":{"rendered":"Block PM 307 oilfield in T&#8217;ganu territorial waters, state assembly told"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said said the state government has  written  an official letter to Petronas seeking an explanation on the  oil discovery at the block.<\/p>\n<p>He said the state government has not received an official reply from the national oil corporation to date.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, the state government has received a letter from Lundin Oil,  a Sweden-based oil exploration firm, undertaking oil exporation work in  the area in collaboration with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, confirming  that Block PM 307 was in Terengganu territorial waters,&#8221; he said when  replying to Dr Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi (PAS-Batu Buruk) during  question time.<\/p>\n<p>Syed Azman wanted to know the state government&#8217;s ownership status on  the oilfield and the latest development on the oil royalty claim from  Petronas and the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad said the state government has been informed that Petronas would  pay the oil royalty in March next year through the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>He said the payment would be made as the federal and state government had reached an agreement on the oil royalty claim.<\/p>\n<p>On the state government&#8217;s move to withdraw the summons against  Petronas, Ahmad said the retraction was made after the federal  government agreed to pay all dues from Petronas to the state government  under a special fund as was agreed upon in the original agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Previously, Petronas disbursed payments in two instalments &#8212; the  first week in March and in September while the federal government will  pay in the fourth week of March.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All payments will be paid in full next year without any deductions,&#8221;  he said in his reply to a supplementary question from Syed Azman.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad said based on this assurance that the state government agreed  to retract the summons as what was of paramount importance was the state  government receiving the full amount due from Petronas.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a press conference later, Ahmad said the state government  received RM2 billion in Sepcial Fund from Petronas this year.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Petronas paid RM1.6 billion, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The state government is expected to receive five per cent more or an  additional RM100 million a year, depending on the oil production  estimates, when oil exploration at the PM307 Block starts in the third  quarter of 2014, he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content_wrapper\">\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"decoded\" src=\"http:\/\/buletinonline.net\/v7\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/PM307%20Milik%20Siapa.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"http:\/\/www.buletinonline.net\/images\/stories\/aberita10\/PM307%20Milik%20Siapa.jpg\" width=\"448\" height=\"299\" style=\"float: right;
