Earlier, Zahid proposed the “Blue Malaysia Agenda” as part of Umno’s vision for the country.<\/p>\n
He said the agenda aims to create a high-income nation and prosperous society, while ensuring Malaysia is respected globally.<\/p>\n
Idris said Pas attended the assembly to strengthen ties between both parties and highlight the importance of cooperation in Malaysia’s political landscape.<\/p>\n
He said that Umno and Pas remained among the political parties with strong grassroots bases, adding that closer relations could reinforce overall political cooperation.<\/p>\n
Idris said grassroots cooperation between both parties was already underway, with members encouraged to build ties and explore joint initiatives ahead of future state and general elections.<\/p>\n
He said that the process went beyond top-level political alignment, focusing heavily on solidifying relationships on the ground.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan rejected claims that cooperation between Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional was loose.<\/p>\n
“That is wrong. You can see our presence today. Our presence here is clear,” Takiyuddin said.<\/p>\n
Separately, Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, son of the late Pas spiritual leader Tan Sri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, said Zahid’s speech was “very convincing” and reflected confidence in achieving greater unity among Muslims.<\/p>\n
