A woman hid her newborn baby in a toilet water tank because she did not want her roommates to find out about the baby, reported Metro Ahad.
The 23-year-old woman from Kuala Terengganu panicked when the baby was born while she was in the bathroom.
The unmarried woman was believed to be eight months’ pregnant. The family knew she was in a relationship but did not realise she was pregnant.
Kemaman district police chief Supt Abdullah Sani Salat said it was fortunate that the broken water tank was dry.
“If not, the baby might had died because his birth was only discovered two hours later,” he said.
The mother and baby were taken to Hospital Kemaman for treatment.
