PAS vice-president Datuk Ustaz Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has secured enough nominations to challenge Mohamad Sabu for the deputy presidency in the upcoming party polls in June.
According to a report by a news portal on Sunday, Tuan Ibrahim has received his second nomination after Kluang PAS division nominated him as their candidate.
He received the first nomination last week from the Kuala Kedah division.
A candidate needs at least two nominations to qualify them to contest any position.
Attempts to get Tuan Ibrahim to comment whether he would run the election have been unsuccessful.
However, speculation has been rife that he would challenge two-term deputy president Mohamad, who is also known as Mat Sabu, for the post following his objection to contest the no.1 post.
Mohamad has yet to receive nominations in order for him to defend his post.
