KUALA TERENGGANU – The Terengganu FA (TFA) are ready to defy the FA of Malaysia (FAM) and appoint a new coach.
The FAM disciplinary committee had declared on Thursday that TFA’s decision to suspend coach Peter Butler and terminate his contract was null and void.
But TFA president Datuk Che Mat Jusoh is still adamant about terminating Butler’s contract “but it will depend on the official letter by FAM on the decision”.
“We will have to wait for the official letter first,” he said. “We are still planning to sack him (Butler) and terminate his contract.
“Any settlement with him will depend on the directive from FAM.”
Asked on the confusion regarding the hiring of new coach E. Elavarasan, Che Mat said the FA only agreed in principal to hire him.
“No contract has been signed with Elavarasan. However, we hope to hire him once his contract with Felda United expires,” said Che Mat, who hopes to find an amicable solution regarding Butler’s contract.
