Terengganu PAS Adds Five More Elements In Election Manifesto

HULU TERENGGANU, Jan 12 (Bernama) — PAS has added five more elements in its 13th general election manifesto to bring it to 10 in its quest to recapture Terengganu.

Terengganu PAS commissioner Abdul Wahid Endut said the five new deals were to continue the fight to regain oil royalty rights; to replace the land acquired by the government for housing projects and resettle those affected.

The others are to provide free water supply to domestic consumers up 20 cubic meters per month; to set up more religious and pondok schools; and lastly to establish a state-owned Islamic studies institution like Kusza with preference given to local students.

Speaking at a news conference here today, he said five other elements mentioned in the manifesto announced on Oct 15, 2010 were to waive quit rent; to resolve issues pertaining to the land acquired by the government; to give a one-month paid leave to female civil servants in the event of the death of their husbands.

He said the others were to create 17,000 jobs within three years upon taking over the reins; and to communalise the economy by providing projects and special schemes for the poor through participation in farming, livestock rearing and businesses.– BERNAMA
