Terengganu has agreed to set up a trading site for new women entrepreneurs or Pasarnita in the state in effort to help them boost their economy.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said this made Terengganu the first state to respond to the call by the Prime Minister’s Department Women Entrepreneurs and Professionals Development Advisor Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil to set up permanent sites for women in business.
“We will offer a minimum rental to those involved. If they cannot afford it, we will give them a spot for free,” he told a media conference after launching the state level An-Nur (for boosting Islam religious activities and information) and Juwita (Network For Single Malaysian Mothers) Squads here, Saturday.
Also present at the function was Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who is also the national head of the An-Nur squad.
On Friday, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who is also Wanita Umno president, had asked state governments to set up permanent Pasarnita sites for women traders and entrepreneurs to promote and market their products.- BERNAMA
