KUALA TERENGGANU – The flood situation in Terengganu has worsened with more evacuation centres set up to accommodate more victims.
Kemaman now has 20 relief centres compared with 17 in the morning while Besut and Kuala Terengganu have added a centre each.
The number of victims also rose at 5,952 people from 5,189 in the morning.
State Welfare Department portal said as off 5.15pm, Dungun recorded the highest number of victims with 2,123 people at 17 relief centres.
Kemaman has 1,862 people seeking shelter at 22 relief centres while Kuala Terengganu opened six centres to house 1,020 people.
In Hulu Terengganu, 703 victims moved to 11 centres while Besut opened four centres to accommodate victims.
The portal also stated that 36 people were at a centre in Marang while Setiu housed 22 at two relief centres.
