Student Assaulted In Classroom, Receives Seven Stitches

KUALA TERENGGANU – A Form Two student of Sekolah Menengah Bukit Tunggal here received seven stitches for a cut on the left ear after he was allegedly assaulted by a school mate.

The victim’s mother, Fatimah Ngah, 54, said the incident occurred about 1pm Wednesday while his youngest son, Abdul Rahman Abdul Ghani, was in class getting ready for his mid-year examination.

Suddenly, a Form One student, known as Yusop, appeared from nowhere and kicked him on the right cheek, causing Abdul Rahman to fall and hit the glass window pane, she added.

She said that after the incident, Abdul Rahman contacted his older brother, who then went to school and took Abdul Rahman home to Kampung Bukit Kandis here.

“I was shocked to see Abdul Rahman who came home with blood stains on his shirt. He told me that a student hit him for no apparent reason,” she said when met at here house here Thursday.

Fatimah said Abdul Rahman was taken to the Bukit Tunggal Health Clinic and then referred to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for treatment, before a police report was lodged Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department head, ACP K. Manoharan, when contacted, confirmed that police had received a report on the incident.- BERNAMA
