Selangor PAS is appealing to PKR and DAP to adhere to the decree by the Selangor Sultan to submit more than two names for consideration for the post of Mentri Besar.
State PAS secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman (pic) said the party was saddened and disappointed after Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah reprimanded the parties for forwarding only PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail’s name for the position.
“PAS Selangor appeals to (our) partners to abide with the decree of the Sultan because we will go nowhere if we go against the royal institution.
“We are confident this crisis can be resolved and we hope it is resolved immediately because the longer we wait, the more the people will suffer,” he said in a press statement on Monday.
The Paya Jaras assemblyman stressed that PAS members in the state would always follow what was decreed by the Sultan for the benefit of the people of Selangor.

Earlier, the Sultan via his private secretary Datuk Mohd Munir Bani expressed disappointment with PKR and DAP for naming only one candidate for the Mentri Besar posit.
Even though the Sultan had requested for all three parties in Pakatan Rakyat to submit more than two names, only PAS had abided, submitting three names to the Palace.
