KUALA TERENGGANU: A robber not only took his 21-year-old victim’s gold bracelet but even ordered her to prepare breakfast for him.
But while he ate, the victim escaped to a neighbour’s house and alerted the police, who caught the suspect and his accomplice a few hours later.
The suspect, aged 29, had broken into the victim’s home in Bukit Payung at about 8.30am on Sunday.
He held a machete at the victim’s throat before relieving her of her bracelet. He then ordered her to prepare breakfast.
The suspect fled in a vehicle driven by his 21-year-old accomplice after his victim had escaped.
Terengganu CID chief Asst Comm K. Manoharan said the suspect had already given the stolen bracelet to his girlfriend, who pawned it for RM800.
He said police had recovered the bracelet. The shop’s owner and worker were held for questioning.
“Both robbery suspects tested positive for methamphetamine,” he added.
