KUALA TERENGGANU – Police are investigating a report published in an online news portal that depicted several people stepping on pictures of Pakatan Rakyat leaders.
A 34-year-old man apparently lodged a report at the Kerteh police station on Satur- day after he saw the pictures of several men carrying out lewd acts.
The online pictures depicted three men stepping on as well as “urinating” on the images of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and party spi- ritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat.
Terengganu deputy CID chief Supt Luqman Abdul Rahman said the online pictures also showed the images being burnt after that.
“We take this matter very seriously as it is against the law,” he said yesterday.
“We have not ascertained whether the incident took place in Terengganu. However, we will investigate the matter.”
Supt Luqman urged the perpetrators to surrender as soon as possible.
“We also hope witnesses can contact the nearest police station if they have any information on the case.”-The Star Online
