Police Seize Drugs Worth RM19,000 in Kuala Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu police seized drugs worth RM19,000 and detained a man after raiding a house in Kampung Surau Haji Daud here last Wednesday.

State Narcotics CID chief, Supt Md Tahir Kassim said based on a tip-off, police managed to cripple the drug trafficking activity which had just began in the area.

“In the raid, police found a pouch hidden in a room with 12 bottles containing white powder, believed to be heroin, weighing 48 grammes. Police also found four blue plastic packets containing 788 methamphetamine pills weighing 78 grammes,” he told a media conference today.

He said, the 45-year-old suspect was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

Md Tahir did not rule out the possibility of other suspects involved in the activity.– BERNAMA
