He told reporters that the constable, 51, and his accomplice, aged 28, also tested positive for methamphetamine.
He said police also seized the victim’s motorcyle, a sum of cash, a machete and several white tubes believed to contain drugs.
He said on Sunday, the victim, who was riding home to Kampung Bukit Bayas on a motorcycle, was intercepted by a policeman on a motorcycle near a secondary school here at 12.30 pm.
The victim abandoned his machine and ran away on foot for fear of his safety, he said, adding that early Monday morning, the victim received a phone call of a man identifying himself as “Sarjan Bakar” who asked him to come to the station to claim his motorcycle but needed to pay RM300 for its release.
He said the victim lodged a report that led to the arrests.(Bernama)
