Police Detain Two Suspects, Seize Drugs Worth RM16,000 In Setiu

SETIU – The police have detained two men in connection with the seizure of drugs worth about RM16,000, during a raid in Kampung Seri Aman here last Thursday.

He said a police team found 852 red pills, believed to be psychotropic pills, and crystal syabu weighing 60.10 grammes hidden under the driver’s seat of a car in which the duo were travelling in.

“We believe the suspects obtained the drugs from Kuala Terengganu before distributing it to drug addicts in Sungai Tong here,” he told a press conference here Sunday.

In a separate incident, a medical officer found nine plastic bottles containing heroin weighing 44.37g in the possession of a man who underwent treatment at the Setiu Hospital.

Elias said the suspect, in his 30s, was found with the drug when he sought treatment at the Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah Kuala Terengganu for injuries sustained in a road accident on Oct 14.

He said the suspect, who was still undergoing treatment at the hospital was remanded until Tuesday to facilitate investigations.- BERNAMA
