The parliamentary by-elections in Rompin and Permatang Pauh will be used by PAS as a platform to explain to the people on the implementation of hudud in Kelantan.
PAS Acting Ulamak Chief Datuk Ahmad Yakob, who is also the Kelantan Mentri Besar, said the party’s intention to promote Islamic law during campaigning in the two by-elections was not opposed by PKR and DAP.

News portals earlier reported that PKR secretary-general Mohd Rafizi Ramli said it was not relevant to raise the hudud issue during campaigning for the Permatang Pauh by-election.
PAS’ plan to implement hudud in Kelantan has affected party relations within the Opposition pact.
On PKR’s decision in fielding Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as its candidate in Permatang Pauh, Ahmad, who is also the Kelantan PAS commissioner, said he accepted the directive of the top party leadership to support the PKR president.
The Election Commission set May 5 for polling in Rompin while voters in Permatang Pauh will cast their votes on May 7. – BERNAMA
