PAS Urges Fresh Mandate Through Parliament Dissolution

KOTA BARU: PAS has urged the Federal Government to dissolve Parliament and give the people a fresh mandate to choose a new government.

PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Ustaz Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the political situation within the Unity Government had become increasingly volatile, with parties openly attacking one another.

He said the situation was no longer a secret, with various statements made publicly highlighting the growing rift among parties in the coalition.

“Usually, such matters within a party are not brought into the open. But the situation has become serious and difficult to control, with parties attacking one another.

“My view is simple – for stability, dissolve Parliament and give the people the mandate to make a new choice.

“The recent outcome was not a choice of a single party, but a coalition. In fact, no single party was able to form the government on its own in the last general election,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters after attending the PAS 75th anniversary (Jubli Intan) celebration talk here last night.NST
