PAS will take legal action against whistle-blower website Sarawak Report over its report alleging that the Islamist party has accepted RM90mil from Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In a statement, PAS deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (pic) had described the report as “fake” and was done in “bad faith”.

“We are unsure of their intention for writing such a report apart from wanting to associate us with Umno.

“Whatever it is, we will take legal action against the report as it has malicious intent to discredit the party and the basis of Islam upheld by PAS,” he said Monday.

Tuan Ibrahim said the report has also affected the people’s trust towards the website.

“I would like to urge the public to stay away from slander and stop spreading any slanderous news, especially published in Sarawak Report recently,” he said.

On Saturday, Sarawak Report published a comment piece claiming that Najib had wooed PAS away from the Opposition coalition by channeling RM90mil funds to the party’s top echelons.-thestaronline
