KUALA TERENGGANU – PAS is ready to to face the defamation suit planned to by filed by Selangor Umno concerning the Selangor Islamic Religious Department’s (Jais) inspection of a church in Petaling Jaya on Aug 3.
Its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang it was up to Umno to resort to the action as it was within their rights.
“We are ready for it,” he told reporters when met after the State Assembly sitting here today.
Selangor Umno on Monday had announced that it intended to file a RM10 million defamation suit against PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali for alleging that the Jais action was masterminded by Umno.
Mustafa had claimed that he had evidence to back up his allegation.
Asked if he had seen the evidence, Hadi only said: “Insyallah…” (God willing ….)- BERNAMA
