PAS Youth chief Nik Muhammad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz denies mending fences with Pakatan Harapan – particularly DAP – in ensuring straight fights in the upcoming general election.
He said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had never said there would be any cooperation with DAP and that it was only ”media spin”.
“It was the media that said that there will be cooperation with Pakatan, not Hadi. We have no negotiations with DAP at all. It was media spin,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here Thursday.
The Pasir Mas lawmaker said that PAS only welcomed negotiations on seat distribution with “any party that has not disturbed” the Islamist party’s internal affairs.
On Thursday, Abdul Hadi said PAS had always been open in cooperating with other Opposition parties, including DAP, as long as they keep their noses out of the Islamist party’s internal affairs.
But Nik Abduh stressed that Abdul Hadi was just making a general statement, without referring to any Opposition party.
“PAS only agrees to ensure straight fights in elections but it is clear that we will not cooperate with DAP,” he said.
