KUALA TERENGGANU – PAS will be observing the decision by Ajil assemblyman Datuk Seri Ahmad Said at tomorrow’s state legislative assembly sitting before deciding on its next move in the highly charged political scenario in Terengganu.

State PAS Youth Deputy chief Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said Ahmad would hold the key to the political situation.

“We, on our part, will neither interfere in the developments within Umno nor influence the the decision to be made by Ahmad, whether he wants to quit or remain with Umno.

“He has to decide his stand. As for us, PAS is ready and capable of governing the state,” he said, referring to the spat between former menteri besar Ahmad and current Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.

SAM_4406State PAS Youth chief Kamaruzaman Abdullah, meanwhile, said his party is capable of restoring political stability in Terengganu and the party machinery is in place to face a snap election.

“We are closely monitoring the political developments in the state and are disappointed in Razif’s leadership in failing to settle the crisis which is affecting the people.

“PAS Youth fully supports the call by Terengganu PAS commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat to administer the state government should there be a shift in the majority at the state legislative assembly, and restore political stability as soon as possible,” he said.

Ahmad, added Kamaruzaman, had yet to indicate his full intention either to quit Umno and join PAS.

On another note, Kamaruzaman said the people of Terengganu were burdened with the implementation of toll charges at the East Coast Highway 2, welfare programmes and the lukewarm promotion of Visit Terengganu Year 2017.- nst.
