Columnist Dr Ridhuan Tee Abdullah criticised the DAP today for allegedly looking down on PAS and for trying to boot them from the Selangor government, claiming the Islamist party has many professionals and is not just made up of “turban-wearing” clerics.
Tee, who is also a Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin lecturer, claimed that the DAP had questioned PAS when the Islamist party said it would abstain from voting on Budget 2016 and had asked since when PAS became experts, much less experts in the economy.

“It looks like all this while, they’ve been looking down on PAS as a party of turban-wearing religious men?” Tee wrote in his column in Sinar Harian today.
“Don’t they know that in PAS, besides religious men, PAS does not lack in professionals, such as experts in the economy, finance, nuclear and others?
“PAS is no longer like before, even though a small group of professionals has left PAS to form Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).
“PAS is not like Amanah; PAS has a stand — they’re not cows being led by the nose. PAS has greater political maturity compared to Amanah,” the Chinese convert added.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said recently at the Selangor DAP convention that PAS was now showing its true colours and its desire to be friendly with Barisan Nasional (BN), after PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said his party would not reject Budget 2016.
DAP delegates at the convention had also called for PAS to be booted from the Selangor state government, but executive councillor Datuk Teng Chang Khim from the DAP had downplayed the friction in the state’s ad hoc coalition government between the DAP, PKR and PAS.
Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali has said a Pakatan Harapan administration is not needed in the state. Pakatan Harapan comprises the DAP, PKR and PAS splinter group Amanah.- themalaymailonline
