PAS says it doubts that snap elections will be called in Penang.
PAS election director Datuk Mustafa Ali (pic) said that according to the party’s observations, no consensus had been reached within Pakatan Harapan concerning the issue.
“Although the snap polls proposal is being widely publicised, we doubt it will happen.
“Nevertheless, PAS is ever ready to face the polls if it is held. But for now we have to wait and see,” he told a press conference at the state PAS Hari Raya open house in Pongsu Seribu on Sunday.
Mustafa claimed that the proposed state elections was due to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng being charged.
“We had not heard about any snap polls prior to this. After Lim was charged with graft in court, the proposal came about,” he said. -thestaronline
