PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said he had left the matter concerning the defamation suit filed against him by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to his lawyers.

He said the remarks he made were general in nature and had also been raised by various parties and sources.

“I have handed the matter over to my lawyers to take the necessary action.

“What I stated was something general, which has also been mentioned by many parties and from various sources,” said the Kubang Kerian Member of Parliament.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has filed a defamation suit against Tuan Ibrahim over remarks allegedly made during a political speech in June.

Anwar’s lawyer, Datuk Sankara Nair, said the suit was filed at the High Court on Monday.

Sankara said the proceedings arose from statements allegedly made by the defendant during a political speech at Felda Jenderak Utara, Kuala Krau, Pahang, on or around June 14, 2026, which were false and defamatory of his client.

The suit also relates to the publication and republication of the allegedly defamatory statements in video recordings and on social media platforms, including YouTube and Facebook, as well as on the defendant’s Facebook account, “@Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man”.
