PAS’s president Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has done his best in making a difficult but necessary decision to end the prolonged political fiasco engulfing the state.
PAS Terengganu commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat said the decision by Hadi and the party’s Central Committee members was made in consideration for the people in Selangor who have been forcefully dragged to the political conflict.
“The people invented their trust in Pakatan and we should not drag the issue any further as it will only backfire Pakatan and created dissatisfaction among our supporters.
“Pakatan must also be wary with the threat if rival political parties who might take the opportunity to manipulate our supporters. This a fast and fair decision must be made,” he said.
Satiful added that PAS’s willingness to maintain four state executive council members from the party in the state government was a gesture made to show that the party’s responsibility for the people remain it’s biggest priority.
“The fact that these Exco members are running the state government is proof that the state is still under Pakatan Rakyat’s rule.
“If not for Pas, the transition of power to a new Menteri besar will be more difficult.
“And any political manouverings with selfish motives that goes against our principle of putting people first should not be allowed to happen–It’s unIslamic and undemocratic,” he said.
PAS Terengganu also urged the party’s leadership to take stern action against the two Pas assemblymen who had go against the party’s directive.
The two assemblymen, Saari Sungib and Hasnul Baharudin had pledge support for PKR’s president Datin Seri Wan Azizah wan Ismail as the Menteri besar at the time when the party was still behind incumbent Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
“We urge for the two assemblymen to be stripped off their Pas membership so that it will be a lesson for other Pas members to not try to sabotage the party,” he said – NST
