KUALA TERENGGANU – PAS’ newly-appointed election director Datuk Mustafa Ali (pic) says the party will stay with PKR to keep Pakatan Rakyat alive.
“Pakatan is not dead, only ‘pengsan’ (fainted),” he told a press conference at Terengganu state Liaison office here yesterday.

“DAP is the one which decided to leave Pakatan; not PAS or PKR,” he said, recalling a similar incident in 2001 when DAP left Barisan Alteratif but eventually returned in 2008 to form Pakatan Rakyat.
He added in a press conference at PAS Terengganu Terengganu Liason Office at Jalan Sultan Omar here, today, that no party could live alone and a coalition was needed.
Mustafa also referred to PKR president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah’s statement that PKR would stick with Pakatan.
“There is no issue of Selangor falling to the opposition as we have also been instructed to stay with the government.”
He added that they must find a way to solve the hiccup they are facing now.

“We must find the right prescription to continue with the coalition as the current prescription has a side effect,” he said, referring to PAS’ broken ties with DAP in Pakatan.
Mustafa described the the DAP’s move to leave Pakatan as an “academic exercise”.
Commenting on the party’s internal struggles, Mustafa said splinter group PasMa would not pose a threat to them.
“PasMa is not a threat, the real threat is the new political party,” he said, without mentioning any specific party’s name.
“PAS is open to criticism as we are not perfect and no party can live alone. There should be a marrying of parties in a coalition to ensure its strength,” he added – source thestaronline
