KOTA BAHARU, Dec 5 (Bernama) — The Gabungan and Mampat non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from Kelantan and Terengganu respectively have joined forces to launch a movement called “Gegar” to urge the federal government to restore oil royalty rights to the two states.

Gabungan chairman Dr Abdul Halim Yusof said Gegar was politically neutral and that its only objective was to struggle for oil royalty rights for Kelantan and Terengganu to be restored.

For a start, Gegar would soon organise a convention in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the matter, he told reporters after the launching of “Gegar” here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mampat chairman Mohd Fauzi Abu Samah said they planned to invite Gua Musang Member of Parliament Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to participate in the convention.
