KUALA TERENGGANU — The National Anti- Drug Agency (AADK) believed there are about 10,000 drug addicts in Terengganu.
She said the figure was based on an evaluation by the World Health Organisation (WHO) of four unregistered addicts for every registered drug addict.
“There are 2,664 people placed under the agency’s supervision in Terengganu, meaning there are about 10,000 addicts in the state,” she told Bernama after opening an anti-drug campaign here today.
She said various programmes would be carried out by the agency to fight drug abuse, including campaign, patrol and operations.
“Our target is to reduce drug addiction, espcially amomg the young people, and to do this, we need the cooperation of the society,” she added.
