KUALA TERENGGANU – A 19-year-old ‘Mat Rempit’ or illegal motorcycle racer was sentenced to one day imprisonment and fined RM1,000 by the Magistrate’s Court here today after he was found guilty of kicking a policeman.
Zulhawani Zulkifli, from Alor Limbat, Bukit Payong here, had allegedly kicked the motorcycle of a policeman on patrol at Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin, at about 2.30am on April 26.
He pleaded guilty when the charge was read out to him before Magistrate Nor Azizah Mohd Yusof.

Zulhawani was charged under Section 186 of the Penal Code which carries a sentence of up to three months imprisonment. Insp V.Ravi appeared for the prosecution. – Bernama
