brutally stabbed1When documents showed that the suspect, from Manir near here, was already married, he started claiming that he was divorced and sincere in wanting to marry the victim’s younger sister.

While walking to the carpark, an argument subsequently ensued. At this juncture, the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed Mohd Shukri repeatedly.

The victim, who sustained serious injuries from the attack, died on the spot while the suspect sped off in a red Honda Civic with an unidentified individual waiting inside.

A security guard, who suspected something amiss, immediately decided to close the gate. However, the unidentified individual got out of the vehicle, threatened the guard with a knife and opened the gate himself before leaving.

State Criminal Investigations Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Aziz Wan Hamzah said checks showed that Mohd Shukri had six stab wounds on his body, including one each on the chest and throat.

“We have identified the suspect and are tracking him down. “It seems that the stabbing incident was premeditated. No weapon was found at the crime scene except a piece of newspaper believed to have been used to cover the knife,” he said.

The case is being investigated under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.NST
