So far eight individuals, including coach Peter Butler, Terengganu FA president Datuk Che Mat Jusoh and goalkeeper Ahmad Sharbinee Allawee have been brought in for questioning.

Terengganu MACC director Mohd Yusoff Mohd Zain said question the same people later.

“We are also looking to record statements from other players as well. The investigation is ongoing as we want to ascertain the truth,” he told the press during the MACC Hari Raya event yesterday.

He said statements were recorded from eight people on Sept 4 and Sept 5.

“There are no developments yet. We hope the public can refrain from speculating on the matter,” he said.

The MACC investigation is among some of problems experienced by Terengganu after Butler sacked Ismail Faruqi and Muslim Ahmad from the squad.

The players were later joined by Ahmad Sharbinee in Butler’s bad book, following a goalkeeping blunder, which earned Kedah a 1-1 draw.

Amidst allegations that he was corrupted, Ahmad professed his innocence and stated that he was willing to be investigated by the MACC.

It is learnt that some of the people, including Butler, spent close four hours being questioned by the MACC last week – The Star Online
