BESUT: A 41-year-old Lance Corporal was seriously injured after he was slashed by two masked men armed with swords, here on Friday.
According to a source, the victim was attacked while he was visiting his friend’s house in Kampung Beris Lampu, in the 10.30pm incident.
The victim suffered serious injuries to his left wrist, arm, body and left leg.
He was at the sofa in the living room when the duo barged into the house and slashed him repeatedly, before fleeing the scene.
The victim, attached with the Kampung Raja police station, was sent by his friend to the Besut Hospital and was later transferred to the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kubang Kerian for further treatment.
Meanwhile District police chief Superintendent Khalid Che Lah who confirmed the incident said police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing hurt.-NST
