The launch ceremony, held at KMI Kuala Terengganu Medical Centre (“KMIKT”), was officiated by YB Dr. Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, State of Terengganu Chairman of the Committee on Information, Da’wah, and Syariah Empowerment cum Chairman of KMIKT.
Hospital Mesra Ibadah represents KMI Healthcare’s commitment to providing healthcare services that focus not only on physical treatment but also on the spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being of patients.
The concept is designed to ensure that patients, their families, and hospital staff experience a calm, clean, and worship-friendly environment, regardless of religious background.

To ensure comprehensive adherence to Syariah principles, KMI Healthcare has also established a strategic collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (“UTP”) to develop a Shariah-Compliant Hospital Framework. In addition, preparations are underway to obtain the MS ISO 1900:2014 certification – Malaysia’s Standard for Shariah-Based Quality Management Systems, positioning KMI hospitals as a benchmark for Shariah-based healthcare services in Malaysia and the region.
In his officiating speech, YB Dr. Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi emphasized that the Hospital Mesra Ibadah approach is aligned with the principles of Maqasid Syariah, which focus on the preservation of religion (hifz al-din), preservation of life (hifz al-nafs) as well as intellect (hifz al-‘aql), and “When patients are given the space and comfort to perform their religious obligations, it not only accelerates the healing process but also brings peace of mind to both patients and their families.
Apart from that, the concept of this HMI Hospital does not turn its back on the sentiments of other religions by providing facilities for all parties such as a silent room for people of other faiths to worship,” he said.
Hospital Mesra Ibadah stands as a new benchmark for KMI Healthcare in combining modern medical advancements with values of compassion, empathy, and respect for all communities.
This initiative is also expected to serve as a model for other hospitals nationwide to expand healthcare services based on rahmatan lil ‘alamin – mercy for all creation.
